Everyone dreams about being happy. But happiness seems so elusive. Some claim to have attained it and yet many have resigned themselves to a life without it. Some who have attained happiness ended up without it very quickly. Sadly, happiness seems to be short-lived as well. Or is it? What is true happiness? What does it mean to be truly happy? Wouldn't it be a tragedy to go through life without having known true happiness?
Some have equated happiness with wealth. Others think that being happy is about being famous. Yet others rekon that being able to be with the person you love is happiness.
I know of those who perceive the pleasures of happiness as being able to age gracefully in the company of grandchildren. Yet, after receiving such perceived happiness, they discovered that happiness was still incomplete.
So , true happiness cannot be superficial, or limited to material satisfaction. There has to be some form of inner satisfaction as well. I have discovered that there can be true happiness in the simple phone calls back home to catch up with loved ones; or the feelings of joy when good friends reminisce about the good old days; or even in moments when confidantes share their secrets with one another.

I think it depends on whether you notice all the grace of the Lord that surrounds you.
Everything you have, should make you happy.
